Story card comes with piece; A man went into the mountains to hunt and was captured by a Black Bear, who carried him back to his den. Instead of killing the hunter, the bear taught him many things, including how to catch salmon - at which men excelled ever since. When the man returned to his village, he took the Black Bear for a crest, and from then on, whenever he was in trouble, he received help from his Bear friends.
